Who attends art schools, who goes to the art museum? Whose bodies do we see on the paintings in the collections? And: which art works don’t we see? Does the art museum represent me as well? Does the accessibility of and belonging to art change if we stop looking at art institutions as «white cubes».
Mit: Lucie Kolb (FHNW), Sophie Vögele (ZhdK) and Henri-Michel Yéré (African Studies, Universität Basel) will contemplate these and related questions about the art museum and other places of spatial and scientific categorization. They will share their academic, artistic and personal interactions with the art school, the art museum and the university as institutions.
